Gingerbread Irish Mule - Irish Whiskey Cocktail

The Gingerbread Irish Mule is the Christmas cocktail to bring you holiday cheer. The classic Moscow mule cocktail combines vodka and ginger beer in a copper cup. This variation replaces the vodka with Irish Whiskey and ramps up the ginger flavor. Enjoy the spice, molasses, and brown sugar flavors while you unwrap your favorite Christmas Irish Whiskey.
EQUIPMENT
- IWSA Cocktail Shaker

Copper Mug
INGREDIENTS
- 2 oz Blended Irish Whiskey
- 6 oz Ginger Beer
- 1/2 oz Gingerbread syrup*
- Garnish with a couple cranberries
INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all ingredients in shaker or directly in mug

Stir with ice
NOTES
*To make the Gingerbread syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 2 inch piece of ginger peeled and sliced
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 whole nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- 2 teaspoons whole allspice
- Mix ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- When mixture is simmering, reduce heat and simmer on low for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, turn off heat and allow to steep for about an hour.
