Falling Leaves - Irish Whiskey Cocktail

Posted by Irish Whiskey USA on

This cocktail gives all the leaf peepers something to enjoy as the weather turns to Autumn in October. Falling Leaves is the perfect savory drink for foliage season. Tired from a long day of apple picking or raking leaves? This cocktail captures all your favorite fall flavors of apple, maple, and of course Irish Whiskey!

EQUIPMENT

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 oz Irish Whiskey
  • 3/4 oz Apple Cider
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz Maple syrup (diluted 2:1)
  • Pinch of kosher salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine all ingredients in shaker
  • Shake for 20 seconds then strain into glass
  • Enjoy with the falling foliage

NOTES

Due to the addition of cider and maple syrup, it is recommended to use a blended Irish Whiskey matured exclusively in bourbon casks. Two great choices would be Powers Gold Label or Roe and Co, both at slightly higher 43% abv. (Alternatively, the Whistler Calvados cask finish blend would also work well to accentuate the apple notes)
