Were you aware that a large proportion of Irish Whiskey brands are actually sourced? Do you know and not care? Or, is it akin to not wanting to know how the sausage is made? Maybe most don't want to talk about it but just enjoy drinking it. A recent article from Neat magazine raised the issue of how common sourcing in the American whiskey market was and the lack of transparency around it. What if I told you there were more than a dozen sourced Irish whiskies mixed in with non-sourced brands on the shelves in the above picture alone?...

As announced earlier this year, Walsh Whiskey rebranded the entire Irishman range of whiskies. The liquid did not change; however, the packaging did from the bottle style and design to the screw cap vs. cork stopper. These new bottles are now available widely across the USA. Reaching the 18 year milestone brings the distinction of achievement, experience, and celebration. This age is looked upon and reminisced fondly in subsequent years, often to the point of wishing you could be 18 again. Jameson 18 year old seemingly embodies all of these characteristics.
