IWSA Powers Irish Rye Launch Event Celebration

The Irish Whiskey Society America is proud to announce our exclusive member-only virtual event celebrating the USA launch of the newest Powers expression, a 100% Irish Rye Whiskey. The iconic Powers brand is known for many firsts including introducing the original mini bottle or Baby Powers. Now with the first 100% Irish Rye Whiskey they are continuing that tradition.

Participants will be among the first consumers to sample the new Irish whiskey! Our event features the insights from Eric Ryan of Irish Distillers as we will discuss the 10 year journey from idea genesis to bottle release. As an additional bonus, our event will showcase the making of "The Irish Built Manhattan" cocktail from Erin Smyth, Bar Manager from Swift Hibernian Lounge in New York City. We will discuss the history of Irish laborers building New York and the iconic cocktail originally made with American rye.  

This event was made exclusive to IWSA members who received a Powers Irish Rye bundle package courtesy of Lafayette Importers. The event package contains 50ml bottles of Powers Gold and Powers Irish Rye, a 100ml Starlino Vermouth along with Starlino Maraschino Cherries and Angostura Bitters. IWSA members can sample the whiskeys, make their own Irish Built Manhattan cocktail, and enjoy the craic!

While the event is SOLD OUT, we will share the video recording and an additional full interview with Eric Ryan on our website and YouTube channel following the big night on Thursday February 9th.
